Atlantic Wood Facility: The Atlantic Wood Facility was a government Superfund site charged with the clean up and remediation work of the defunct creosote plant, which caused contaminants to leach into the Elizabeth River.  Here, berms were built as discharge sites for the contaminated dredge spoil resulting from this process.  We established perimeter controls which included over 5,000 linear feet of chain link super silt fence.  Once the berms were constructed, erosion control blankets and turf reinforcement matting were installed as well as a seed mixture of native grasses applied to stabilize the berms.
